So what do people think of the latest consoles? Which do you prefer, PS4 or Xbox One?

I was originally leaning towards the Xbox One, just because I prefer the Xbox 360 to the PS3. It just seemed smoother and a better experience. But the more I read into it and ask people, I think the PS4 might be my next console eventually.

What about you guys?

Also, refrain from console flaming comments.  f41l

PS4... I'm too lazy to write why right now but long story short, I'm biased.

Either way you go, both barely have games at the moment. I usually side with Xbox because my friends all have Xbox's and I like its exclusives better. Although sometimes I wish I could have both. I just don't have the money to pay for two memberships.

I was biased too with Xbox but I also think the 360 was better.

I used to prefer the Xbox exclusives but I'm not a big fan of Halo anymore and the PS exclusives look pretty cool.

And yeah, I'm still waiting for more games to be available for each of them. I won't buy one until at least after Christmas. Unless I cave and decide I really need one right now, which happens sometimes. Tongue

I'm very disappointed in the new generation. The only ones who attempted to innovate and make an experience that can't be found on PC is Nintendo, while Microsoft and Sony basically made the same exact product with updated hardware.

You would think that if they were simply focusing on better hardware, then they would release something that was capable of competing with PC hardware for at least the next few years, but this was obsolete from day one.

Consoles still have their purpose and performance obviously isn't everything, but if you're going to play on a more expensive platform (games wise) with less functionality and less games, it should at least offer killer performance and 1080p in every game. So far we're just seeing everything run at 900p and below. It's 2014... wtf?

That chart is clearly not accurate, as it says "Xbox 720" Tongue And they actually innovated a lot, just not as much in the gaming area, though the Kinect updates were pretty amazing. They needed a hardware update pretty badly. Microsoft seemed to mostly focus on the home entertainment side of it, aiming to be the one device for the living room. Not the smartest move, I agree. Gaming should be the focus.

They're actually hefty hardware upgrades though, especially for those that don't want to deal with the BS of PC gaming where if you don't have the minimum specs, you simply can't play it. I'll always prefer consoles. Smile Less games? How? I see more console exclusives now than PC exclusives.

PS4 runs in full 1080p and is one reason why it's superior to the Xbox. The Xbox One only gets up to around 800-900 I believe.

Anyway, like I said, I didn't want this to be a PC vs. console debate. PS4 vs Xbox One. And I guess Wii U?

Sony (PS4) has definitely discussed some better exclusives than the Xbox I can say that,  Sith  and most definitely the PS4 runs in a full, dominating 1080p on its games. The Xbox One can only provide 1080p on several games, so far all I know is the Assassin's Creed game series. The Xbox is more of a "family, living room" gaming system. The PS is, and has always been a more accurate representation of a "gaming" system, as its primary focus is on gaming. One way is that the Xbox carries more apps then PS4. Those Xbox apps mainly feature movies, videos, and live TV. The PS4 has few of those, but then again...  Grin  it is a gaming console.

Both may have few games atm, but both will always prevail with a plethora. But PS4 will be more dominate, only because people look more for a console that will provide the best gaming experience with minor problems. From what I read during both releases of the consoles, Xbox One and PS4 had problems at their Day One launch days. The problems being the consoles themselves!  failure Failure and disappointment . But they resolved their problems and now PS4 has no major problems I've heard of since Day One, or should I say the first month. While Microsoft and Xbox One seem to continue with their problems.

Although I have the Xbox One and never have had a major problem with the console, I still believe Sony's Playstation consoles will continue to be more superior than Microsoft's Xbox until Microsoft realizes they should focus on "gaming" and not generally "entertainment".

"The Xbox is more of a "family, living room" gaming system"

I always got this impression that Xbox had a lot more children playing it while PS3 had more Adults... just my own observation.

PS4. The reason why is i think xbox is too much of a family console. The ps4 is more for the hardcore gamer. Such as myself

lol. I also want to point out that the PS system had netflix and youtube and other entertainments as such before the Xbox consoles.

Considering the flagship games are Halo and CoD? Yeah, that makes sense.

The Xbox 360 was originally focused only on gaming. Only until around 2011 is when they began to give it more and more entertainment options to aid in being a central home entertainment system. Which I think is a good idea. I just don't like how they have shifted that focus in the Xbox One to primarily that.

Xbox Live has always been known to be more reliable and secure as well. PSN was hacked a few years ago and that really made Sony up their game (pun) in making it more secure and I think since then, it's become just as secure as Xbox.

Ive always been SUPER biased to the Xbox but i have my reasons. I think the Xbox is more of a social game platform with a smoother UI and more accessible hardware (such as headsets and add-ons). I Had a PS3 back in the day and the games on were fun but i felt like it was only great for its exclusives I played Killzone MP and CoD MP on ps3 and barely heard anyone say a word during any of the matches prior to this i went to GameStop to get a PS3 headset and they said they didn't even carry them (correct me if im wrong) ??? .

I like to have a social experience even if there are little 9 year kids acting like they all big and bad because there parents aren't home and they can cuss all they want (i find it funny). And From using the UI on PS i saw no way of making any sort of "party" system like xbox has so connect with friends would've a lot harder than it should be Therefore i had always stayed with Xbox and see the PS4 UI i can see it hasn't changed unlike the Xbox One (which i own and isn't nearly as bad as people say they are supremely overreacting) which has improved by making everything smooth and flush with each other and improving on the social experience i like. Even with the shift to entertainment that it took its not really that bad it doesnt FORCE it on you and all in all its completly and 100% optional and as a user i can say it improves the experience since i dont even have to use my cable box.

So my opinions on the consoles are:

PlayStation - Great for the exclusives

Xbox - Social Gaming experience, Accessible Hardware, Smoother UI and general smoother experience

PC - Master Race

(P.S Im am i biased Xbox gamer so some of my points for the PS might not be completely correct)

So I decided to go with an Xbox One. I still have Xbox Live Gold until February, and my account has a lot of stuff attached to it. I figure it's smarter to stick with it.

That also means [member=8]Sidarious[/member] and I will be leading DE on Xbox One games as well.

and if people don't believe him ^ I am here to say that yes, Cal has a chance to be promoted to Sith Lord in his rule over the Xbox, but that has yet to be determined..

lol... I'll be on xbox if anyone needs me, Iv always been a xbox fan so if anyone wants to play just message me. I'll be playing destiny and mass effect kthanksbye. ps xbox FTW

I look forward to seeing what you have planned for us [member=3]Calamiir[/member]  :sith:      Dont  f41l  us
